Squirrel	July 1, 2008 through June 28, 2009	No Limit
Jack Rabbit	July 1, 2008 through June 28, 2009	No Limit
Cottontail	July 1, 2008 through January 25, 2009	5 / Day
Dove	September 1, 2008 to September 14, 2008 and November 8, 2008 to December 21, 2008	10 / Day
Quail	October 18, 2008 to January 25, 2009	10 / Day
Pigeon	December 20, 2008 to December 28, 2008	2 / Day
Duck	October 18, 2008 to January 25, 2009	7 / Day
Archery Deer	September 6, 2008 to October 13, 2008 *	2 / Season*
Firearm Deer	October 18, 2008 to December 7, 2008	1 / Season*

* Check with the REC Branch for the latest information on season updates.
* No more than two deer can be taken in California per year.
* Archery deer hutners can hunt during the rifle general season, however rifle deer hunters have the priority during rifle general season.

Notes:

Hunting is normally open on most weekends and holidays.
All dates and times are subject to change based upon Fire Danger Rating and/or Threat condition.

DOVE AND ARCHERY HUNTERS

Dates, Times and Specific Area Use for Dove and Archery
Deer Hunters since both Seasons Start at the Same Time

From September 1st through October 8th, 2007

Dove Hunters: Dove hunters have the priority within the Mike and November training areas prior to 0800. Other hunters can use these areas if these areas are not being used by Dove hunters by 0800.

Weekends and Holidays

Gates open at 0500 (5:00am)
Hunter orange vest is required
Check-in starts at around 0515 (5:15am)
First shot is one-half hour prior to sunrise
Dove hunters lose their priority at 0800
Last Shot is at sunset
Check-out must be prior to 2000 (8:00pm)
Gates close at 2000 (8:00pm)

Archery Hunters: Archery hunters have the priority within the SMR-1, SMR-2 and the Juliett training areas prior to 0800. Other hunters can use these areas if these areas are not being used by archers by 0800.

Weekends and Holidays

Check-in starts at around 0515 (5:15am)
First shot is one-half hour prior to sunrise
Archery hunters lose their priority at 0800
Last Shot is at one-half hour after sunset
Check-out must be prior to 2000 (8:00pm)
Gates close at 2000 (8:00pm)

Archers must wear hunter orange if hunting in areas that shotgun/rifle hunters are hunting in.
Archers have the priority from 0500 to 0800 for areas from September 16 through October 8, 2007 and during those dates
