Minutes of Pendleton Sportsman’s Club meeting on April 12, 2005

Call to order. Meeting opened by President Dennis Loftis at 1830.

Introduction of Distinguished Guests

- Mr. Vic Yoder, Head, Resource Enforcement and Compliance Branc

Approved March’s minutes as published.

Report of the Secretary / Treasurer

- Club has 38 members. 37 Regular and one (1) Honorary member.

Was noted that the Club received one (1) new member last month.

Club Dues as of April 1st will be $10 for the remained of year per the Clubs By-Laws

- Opened Club bank account using new approved name.

- Report current balance of $992.07.

- Noted that the club owes President Dennis Loftis $70 for the Post Office Box.

- Club also owes President Dennis Loftis $450 for payment of insurance.

- All out going monies will be paid from Clubs bank account. The check has been written for President Dennis Loftis for the total of $520.

Membership Committee. N/A

House Committee. N/A

Buildings and Grounds Committee: Still searching for a permanent building. Club members got in contact with the rodeo grounds and viewed a trailer at the rodeo grounds. The trailer will need a lot of work to bring back to life. Gene Rucks attended the meeting and mentioned that he may have a place for the club to meet on a regular basis at Range 116. Mr. Rucks will talk to his boss and get back to the club about the location and availability of a building.

Publicity Committee: Club Patches will be available at the Earth Day Celebration on 22 April to be held at the Main Side Center.

Game and Hunting Committee. N/A

Fishing Committee. N/A

Special Committee. N/A

Old and unfinished business

- New membership dues collected. For members joining after 1 April dues to be pro-rated at $10.

- The Club patches were produced incorrectly and will need to be remade (to no cost of the club). We have ordered 100 3-inch patches with a cost of $205.00. Kellee McCann will pay for the patches and the Club will pay Kellee back as the patches are sold. The Patches will be available at the Earth Day Celebration on the 22nd of April.

-Club membership cards have distributed. Members not present will be receiving their membership cards in the mail. If you have not received you membership card contact Secretary Steve Karns at stevekarns@hotmail.com.

- Rifle Site-in days will be scheduled for Saturday’s in June 18th, July 16th, August 20th, and September 17th. The Rifle Site-in days deconflict with the Hunter Safety Courses scheduled.

The Club projects of maintaining fishing areas around Lake O’Neill and maintaining duck blinds have been submitted for approval and an answer is expected very soon on when the club can get started.

The Base Skeet and Trap Club held a shooting event on base March 13 it was a good time.

The State Of California Department of Fish and Game will be holding two Free Fishing days this year on are June 11 and September 24. The base does not require the base license to be purchased for fishing on these two dates. The Pendleton Sportsman’s Club would like to put together a Kids Fishing For Fun day on these dates

Guest Speaker, Mr. Vic Yoder Head, Resource Enforcement and Compliance Branch

- Mr. Yoder has set up two days of training for Hunters Safety Course on base. The dates are June 25 and August 20, 2005. A copy of the flyer is posted on the Clubs website.

New Business

- President Dennis Loftis attended a Pendleton Bass Angler’s event and had a great time. Next event is scheduled for May 7, 2005 at El Capitan and the club has open spots to take people fishing who don’t have a boat of their own. - Next Club meeting will be on May 10, 2005 in building 25264 at 1830. In the event of the meeting being moved a mass e-mail will be sent out of the new location.
