Rifle Sight-in & Range Safety Officer Requirements: Many members indicated their interest in having a rifle sight in at one of the Camp Pendleton ranges; the Pendleton Sportsman's Club is currently limited and still needs members qualified as Range Safety Officers (RSO) and Officers-in-Charge (OIC) by the Base. If we do not have a qualified RSO & OIC a range cannot be scheduled.

  • The first step is to complete the Base on-line / CD training; these CDs are available Base RSO Office, then; complete the one day RSO class given the 1st Friday of each month in the Base Main Theater. There is also a written test given at the Range Control Office on that Friday morning at 0700, then over to the class at the Base Theater for the RSO class.

  • The NRA RSO course is also required and the Pendleton Sportsman's Club will pay for the NRA RSO course. Please contact Dennis by email if you have any questions. hollywoodusmc@earthlink.net
